Over 60 Theatrical Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up students have pulled out all the stops with their glittering end-of-year show 鈥楢n Evening with the Stars鈥.

Glitz and glamour were high on the agenda for the make-up students, with three themes guiding proceedings 鈥 A Night at the Oscars, High Fashion, and, finally, Movie Nights.

A Night at the Oscars saw models strutting down the catwalk in only the most elegant make-up and hair 鈥 with no shortage of sparkle in their outfits, too. The High Fashion theme, split into three of the world鈥檚 most iconic fashion houses; Prada, Gucci and Vivienne Westwood, saw couture headdresses and avant-garde make-up to match.

With a performance from Make It Happen Dance Company 鈥 a troupe of ex-UCB students 鈥 before the final theme of Movie Nights, guests were entertained to the very end. Grease, Beetlejuice, Peter Pan and The Rocky Horror Picture Show were just a few of the classic flicks to make it down the runway, refashioned by students into cutting edge styles fit as much for fashion magazines as the big screen.

Taking place in the foyer of McIntyre House, the event was organised and staffed by Level 3 Hospitality students, providing sparkling wine, canap茅s and entertainment for the evening. Live music, performed by student Elisheba John and ex-student John Stancomb, ensured there was feast for guests鈥 senses between catwalk shows.

鈥淭his year was the best yet,鈥 said Claire Warnock, year manager for Level 3 Theatrical Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up and one of the event鈥檚 key organisers. 鈥淭he atmosphere at McIntyre House was amazing and students were so pleased.

鈥淧arents have been contacting me non-stop about how proud they are of their kids. That goes for the incredible Level 3 Hospitality team, too 鈥 they really raised the bar for all of us, and we will now have to keep raising it year on year.鈥

鈥淭he energy in the room was fantastic,鈥 added lecturer Sue Bedford. 鈥淭he event鈥檚 organisers 鈥 Chloe Lutwyche, Claire Warnock and Jackie Boyd 鈥 went above and beyond to make this year the best yet and to ensure everyone, staff and students included, left on a high.鈥澛
