We can provide uniform and equipment support for students studying courses in the following areas:

• Creative Services
• College of Food
• Construction
• Level 2 Cabin Crew and Aviation
• Level 2 Early Years
• T Level Education and Early Years
• Level 3 Health and Social Care
• T-level Health
• Automotive

We can also provide specific equipment support for sixth form students studying A-level Mathematics, Further Mathematics or Level 3 Core Mathematics.

If you are awarded support, we will explain how to order your uniform and equipment. We strongly encourage you to wait until your funding has been confirmed before purchasing anything, as we may not be able to reimburse costs incurred in advance.

Please be aware that if equipment is funded by the College and you withdraw from your course before the first week of December, you may be required to return the equipment or repay its cost.

You must be a first year student on one of our further education courses listed in the section above. Your course must be full-time and require you to attend a minimum of 2 days per week.

In addition, your household income must be below £35,000, or your household is receiving one or more of the following benefits:

• Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
• Tax Credits
• Universal Credit
• Pension Credit

If you are eligible for funding and live within the (a minimum of 1.5 miles away), we can provide you with a travel pass from NXBus to help support your travel to and from college.

If you live outside the West Midlands travel area, we may still be able to support you with travel. Where possible, this will be through a termly travel pass issued by . If this is not possible, we may be able to provide a monthly travel support payment of up to £150 as a contribution to your travel costs.

You may be eligible for support if your household income is below £35,000 per year, or your household is in receipt of one or more of the benefits below:

A bursary is an extra form of funding that can help cover many of your costs during your studies. Our bursaries are there to support with the costs required to attend college such as support with a travel pass, college meals, uniform and equipment. The amount awarded is dependent on financial need and looked at on a case-by-case basis.

Our Vulnerable Learner Bursary is designed to help students overcome the individual financial barriers to participation that they face, and we can provide in-kind support of a value up to £1200 to eligible students.

To qualify, you must fulfil certain criteria related to factors such as your household income or personal circumstances. Full details of the eligibility criteria for support available to our college students can be found in the relevant sections below – please read through this carefully before you apply.

To be eligible for the 16-19 Vulnerable Learner Bursary, you (the student) will define as one of the below vulnerable groups:

• You are in (or have recently left) local authority care
• You get Income Support or Universal Credit because you are financially supporting yourself
• You get Disability Living Allowance (DLA) in your name and either Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) or Universal Credit
• You get Personal Independence Payment (PIP) in your name and either ESA or Universal Credit.
