Top students from across聽Hairdressing,听Beauty Therapy听补苍诲听Theatrical Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-up聽courses have been named Schwarzkopf Dream Makers in a trailblazing award scheme put together by UCB and the leading haircare brand.
Taking place in UCB鈥檚 purpose-built studios, students were treated to professional photoshoots of make-up and hair looks they had created based on a theme of their own choosing.
Twelve students, selected as 鈥榮tudents of the month鈥� by their lecturers, xwere named Schwarzkopf Dream Makers and awarded with a day of styling and professional photography in acknowledgment of their commitment, talent and positive attitude towards their work.
Experienced stylists from Schwarzkopf supported students all day as they perfected outfits, hair and make-up for their models in preparation for the shoot.
鈥淚t鈥檚 been a really enjoyable day,鈥� said student Amy, who was put forward by her lecturer for the award due to the outstanding progress she had made on her course.
鈥淚 feel proud to have been selected and it鈥檚 a good thing for us to have taken part in,鈥� added Amy鈥檚 classmate Lauren, while working on an eye-catching 鈥榩rom night鈥� look to be captured by UCB鈥檚 in-house photographers.聽
聽鈥淭oday, we鈥檙e rewarding students who have made huge improvements to their work over the year,鈥� said UCB lecturer and co-organiser for the event Sue Bedford.
鈥淚t鈥檚 always been really important, as hair and beauty students, to have good, professional photographs you can put into a portfolio to impress clients and future employers. But, in the age of social media, having great looking photos is more beneficial than ever before 鈥� as the whole world will get to see them.
鈥淭he Dream Makers Award has developed over the years not only to boost students鈥� portfolios but to give them an insight into working on a professional photoshoot using high-end products. They have to work as a team, keep to a brief and work all day with professional stylists to create a look they feel proud of. It鈥檚 a real confidence-boosting experience and a great reward for students who have worked so hard.鈥�
