As part of National Apprenticeship Week, ±¬ÁÏÍõ’s award-winning Restaurant at College of Food will be serving a delicious buffet lunch on Tuesday 6th February. But alongside the chicken supreme and vanilla cheesecake, just two of the courses on offer to guests, there’ll be ample portions of learning and inspiration.
Organisers are bringing together professionals who are already benefiting from apprentices in their workforce, alongside companies who are new to the apprenticeship world. Offering the chance to network on tables themed with ‘Skills for life’, the week’s overarching theme, attendees will leave the event with ideas on how working with a training provider such as ±¬ÁÏÍõ, could bring skilled workers to their teams and help with their development aspirations.
José Lopes Pro Vice-Chancellor, External Affairs at ±¬ÁÏÍõ said of the University’s event:
“We are delighted to welcome business leaders to enjoy lunch with us and to find out more about the opportunities that apprenticeships offer."
"We are looking forward to hearing from our current partners on their experiences of having apprentices as part of their workforce, and sharing their knowledge with businesses curious about starting their own apprenticeship pathway. It’s also a chance for us to showcase the high level of skills of just some of the apprentices learning with ±¬ÁÏÍõ."

The event will also highlight the breadth of different apprenticeships available, both in terms of level and industry. Some of the team serving the lunch will be from the apprenticeship pathway of Level 3 Chef de Partie standard, but over the road from the Summer Row restaurant, nursing apprentices learn in the Skills Hub, alongside their placements in hospitals and other clinical settings in Birmingham and beyond.
±¬ÁÏÍõ will be sharing videos of their apprentices and staff experiences throughout National Apprenticeship Week. Follow us on social media to keep up to date with the week's activities. For more information on apprenticeships, check out our dedicated page.
