UCB students have stepped in as fairy godmothers for Midlands Air Ambulance鈥檚 aircrew by giving them a glamorous makeover in order to promote their charity ball.聽

FdA Specialist Hair & Media Make-up students Fatou Jagne and Katie Fry sprinkled some stardust on five members of the medical aircrew for Midlands Air Ambulance in preparation for the charity鈥檚 annual Recognition Awards and Charity Ball.聽

First-year student Fatou said: 鈥淭his was my first placement as a聽UCB student, and I was honoured聽to be a part of such a聽good cause 鈥 the ladies are brave and inspirational. We used make-up to enhance their natural beauty, ready for the camera.聽

鈥淭he ladies were excited about wearing false eyelashes for the first time and Katie and I also gave them some make-up tips to try at home. The day was very rewarding and I look forwards to future placements with UCB.鈥澛

The event celebrates Midlands鈥檚 Air Ambulance Charity鈥檚 unsung heroes, including supportive fundraisers, brave airlift patients and dedicated volunteers. It is hosted every year to help raise vital funds for the life-saving service.聽

Katie, a second-year student, said: "It was a great experience to do the hair and makeup for the paramedics and one of the doctors at Midlands Air Ambulance service 鈥 they are amazing women. They got dressed up and stood in front of the helicopter to advertise the charity ball that they hold to raise money for the air ambulance.聽

鈥淲e had to do the photo shoot quickly in case the helicopter was needed for a job, which it was, but thankfully we had got it all done by then! It was great to be part of a charity that helps to save so many lives."聽
