Dozens of students from UCB鈥檚 range of hair and make-up courses have pulled off a major show in Birmingham celebrating up-and-coming fashion designers from across the region.
So important were the University鈥檚 beauty experts to the show that UCB was named an official partner and even landed its own award for Most Supportive Business.
鈥淭he day went incredibly well,鈥� said Employability Tutor Cherry Buckley. 鈥淚t was a fabulous opportunity for our students to work closely with celebrities and industry professionals, and they really pulled it off.鈥�
Specialist Hair and Media Make-up,听Theatrical Hair and Make-up聽and聽Hair and Media Make-up聽students formed the hair and make-up team to primp models, hosts and celebrities for the star-studded evening. Another small team of students worked closely with stage directors and hosts to gain an insight into the behind-the-scenes running of a major industry event.
UCB was awarded the title of Most Supportive Business and named an official sponsor in honour of students鈥� dazzling work, which was perfected over two weeks of intensive preparation and rehearsals. Other categories for the awards covered everything from most up-and-coming dance groups to most inspiring emergency services department.
Held at Birmingham鈥檚 lavish ICC venue, the Birmingham Inspiration Awards were run in conjunction with Top UK Model 2017, which puts promising models from across the country head-to-head to compete for the title of this year鈥檚 Mr and Miss UK Top Model. 聽The evening gained international attention, with coverage on television, radio and in the press.聽
